Chalet Grande Ourse is our flagship 5 bedroom chalet sleeping up to 13. Together with the adjoining Chalet Petite Ourse, we can cater for large groups of up to 21.

Children
The following applies to our younger guests:
Under 16s
- Summer hiking holidays - children under 16 are eligible for a 20% discount on the adult price our summer hiking holidays.
- Family adventure holidays - the child prices given for the family adventure holidays apply to children between 6 and 16 years of age (the guided walking on a family adventure holiday is not availble for children under 12).
Under 12s
- Winter holidays - children 12 and under are entitled to a 10% discount in the adult price.
- Summer hiking - whilst our guided holidays aren't typically suitable for children under 12, we can offer a 20% discount on self-guided holidays.
Under 2s
- Summer holidays - unfortunately unless it's an exclusive booking of the chalet, we're not able to have children under 6 on shared summer holidays at Chalet Grande Ourse. Why not book Chalet Petite Ourse exclusively for your family?
- Winter holidays - toddlers of under two are charged at £100 (€120).
Solo travellers
We do not charge a single supplement for guided or self-guided activity holidays although we may ask guests to share a twin room with another fellow walker of the same sex.

All catered bookings include the following (self-catered excludes meals & the daily chalet clean):
- 7 nights accommodation - unless otherwise stated.
- Guided holidays include 5 days of guided hiking - including transport to and from walks
- Access to expertise - route cards, maps and of course a knowledgeable guide at the chalet to make sure you get the most out your holiday.
- Breakfast every day - a fresh continental breakfast with daily hot option in winter
- Afternoon tea and cakes daily - Sam bakes fantastic, mouth-watering treats to welcome you back from your day on the mountain
- Evening meal with wine on 6 nights - on our night off, we will happily pre-arrange a restaurant from one of the lovely local eateries for you
- Packed lunches (Family Adventure & Walking Holidays only) - for the dedicated activity holidays we provide packed lunches on 5 days.
- All towels and linen - a hairdryer is also provided in each room to save you valuable luggage space!
- Luxury bath robes and slippers - available on catered bookings and at the Grande Ourse & Petite Ourse chalets. Available for a small additional charge at the other accommodation.
- Use of all the chalet facilities throughout your holiday - hot tub (where available), TV, Wifi internet access, movies, music, Wii/games console (where available), books, games etc.
- The Absolute Alpine team on hand to offer any advice, recommendations or assistance you may need in making the most of your holiday e.g. booking of activities, child care arrangements
- A daily light clean of the chalet
- Tea, coffee and squash etc.
What is not included (but we will happily help with!)

- Airport or train station transfers - we can provide or arrange these for you at good rates
- Lift passes - we can have these waiting for you on your arrival to help maximise time on the slopes
- Equipment hire & activities - we have negotiated discounts for you with many of the local suppliers
- Lunches (self-catered and catered) - we can provide packed lunches and picnics for the mountain
- Drinks from the honesty bar - let us know if you've got special requests
- Dinner on our night off - pre-booking is recommended and we'll do this for you
- Travel or holiday insurance
Booking confirmation
All bookings are confirmed on receipt of a deposit of £150 per person for catered holidays or £300 in total for self-catered holidays. All reservations are subject to our standard terms and conditions - these also cover our cancellations policy.
