Catered Chalet - Sample Menus

Our menus below show you some of the delights awaiting you on a catered chalet holiday in Samoens.

We adjust our menus according to the season making use of the best ingredients and noting how climate influences our appetite. We serve 4 courses in those cold winter months and have lighter meals on those beautiful sunny summer days.

We want everybody to enjoy a good meal and are a dab hand at catering for special dietary requirements.

Breakfast

  • Daily filling hot option including:
    • Boiled eggs with dipping soldiers
    • Scrambled eggs on chunky granary bread
    • Porridge with honey and almonds
    • Poached eggs with crispy pancetta
  • Freshly baked baguettes and croissants with a choice of jams, honey, marmalade and chocolate spread
  • Yoghurt and fresh fruit
  • Selection of cold meat and cheeses
  • Selection of cereals
  • Teas, coffee, hot chocolate and fruit juice

A premium breakfast-in-bed service with bucks fizz and smoked salmon can be pre-ordered for special occasions or if you feel like treating yourself! Please contact us for a quote.

Afternoon tea

  • Tasty home-baked cakes, cookies or muffins with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. A different freshly baked option will be available every day and will include:
    • Lemon drizzle cake
    • Peanut butter and white chocolate slices
    • Carrot cake with cinnamon frosting
    • Indulgent chocolate brownies

Evening meal

Menu 1

  • Starter - honeyed winter salad with crumbled feta and sunflower seeds
  • Main course:
    • Beef bourguignon or
    • A vegetarian option of individual wild mushroom pie with parmesan crust
    • Celeriac mash and buttered mange tout
  • Dessert - lemon creme brulee with home-made shortbread
  • Cheese board - selection of regional French and Savoyard cheeses with fruit and cheese biscuits

Menu 2

  • Starter - spiced cauliflower soup with regional cheese
  • Main course:
    • Herb crusted pork medallions with wilted spinach and grain mustard sauce or
    • A vegetarian option of gratin of home-made potato gnocci baked in an roasted tomato and mozzarella sauce
    • Green salad with French dressing
  • Dessert - chocolate and hazelnut praline tart with creme fraiche
  • Cheese board - selection of regional French and Savoyard cheeses with fruit and cheese biscuits

Menu 3

  • Starter - pumpkin soup with parmesan croutons
  • Main course:
    • Fish pie with creamy mashed potato and a parmesan topping or
    • A vegetarian option of spinach, leek and goats cheese tartlet
    • Braised petit pois and steamed broccoli
  • Dessert - sticky toffee pudding with a hot toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream
