A Typical Day on Our Guided Walking Holidays

Guided Walking Holidays – A Typical Day

We’ve blogged previously about the benefits of a guide on a walking holiday (click here for more info), but I thought I’d put together a few pictures of a walk that was enjoyed by our guests yesterday.

Refuge de Sales... And beyond

With a few of the guests opting for a gentler day in the valley, Bruno (our infectiously enthusiastic, resident mountain guide) and four guided walking guests set off in the direction of the Refuge de Sales.

Beautiful Scenery & Wildlife

This walk is one of our favourites! With plenty of options, this area offers something for those seeking a gentler stroll in the mountains whilst also providing a chance for more strenuous and precarious extensions for those wanting a more exciting alpine adventure.

In addition to incredible waterfalls like the one above, the Sales valley is located in a protected nature reserve and provides the perfect setting to see the majestic ibex.

You also stand a very good chance of spotting marmots – like this one relaxing in the sun!

Formally a farming area, some cattle is still found in the area around the old chalets at the refuge (mountain hut).

Depending upon the option you choose, with a little additional climbing, you’ll be rewarded with stunning mountain lakes or commanding views over Mont Blanc.

Refuge de Sales... And beyond

When the sun shines like it did yesterday and has done most of this summer, a day out on the mountains is even more rewarding and enjoyable.

As you’ll have seen from previous blog posts, the cake waiting for you on your return to our luxury chalets is definitely worth the wait (take a look at cakes here)!

After relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying a three course dinner, we put together a short slide show of the day’s highlights. It’s a great opportunity for everybody to relive the best bits of the day over a glass of wine or beer.

Those who have been out doing other adventurous activities such as white water rafting, climbing or mountain biking also have a great opportunity to show off their achievements too!

Last Few Places at Discounted Prices

Our walking holidays are largely full up now and we have very few places left for select weeks.

The good news is that we have some late deals available on the few spots remaining for those of you wanting to join us!
